Pillars

I wrote Pillars for my saxophone quartet in 2019, as part of a concert I hosted at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. There are three movements, each guided by elements of sonic structure that I referred to as "Pillars" throughout the composing process. These elements could be moments of rhythmic unison or a guiding melody that moved between the instruments, designed to provide moments of respite, while hocketting patterns unravelled. ​
